Jim Swanstrom President & Chief Executive Officer

Jim serves as president and CEO of Community Health Charities Iowa. In that role, he is responsible for the overall management of the organization, as well as supporting the work of the board of directors and various CHC Iowa committees. Jim is also responsible for member agency relations, coordinating the Combined Federal Campaign activities and serves as Chair of CHC (national) Council of Affiliate Executives and also serves on the CHC (national) Board of Directors.
Jim's prior professional experience includes serving as director of development for the American Lung Association of Iowa, as director of development for Planned Parenthood of Greater Iowa, as executive director of the Western Iowa and Capitol Wisconsin chapters of the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation. Jim received his bachelors degree from Illinois State University in Normal, a certificate in Nonprofit Management from Iowa State University in Ames and serves in various board and volunteer capacities in Central Iowa. |

Jason Gordon Director of New Business Development - Quad Cities Area
Jason Gordon has previously worked in various leadership capacities within the Quad Cities. From 1999-2002, he served as a Staff Assistant to Congressman Jim Leach. He then served as District Representative to Congressman Jim Nussle from 2003 – 2006. He was tasked with many responsibilities in that capacity, including serving as the primary liaison between the Congressman and the Quad Cities.
Most recently, he was the Development Specialist for the Safer Foundation where his main responsibilities were public relations, media relations, grant writing and fundraising. He joined Community Health Charities Iowa in October 2008. Jason and his family reside in Davenport, where he is an active participant in the community. He was elected to serve on the Davenport City Council and is a member of the Davenport Rotary. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa.

Amy Meyer Thuente Director of New Business Development - I-380 Corridor

Amy Thuente serves as director of new business development – I-380 Corridor. In that role, Amy is responsible for maintaining and growing relationships with area businesses throughout the I-380 Corridor. Amy is also responsible for the marketing and public relations for the Iowa affiliate.
Amy comes to CHC Iowa with experience in fundraising, communications, marketing, media training, and special events management. Some of her prior professional experience includes working for various local, state, and national political campaigns; serving as a fundraiser for a national political party; and working in various capacities in the congressional offices of former Iowa Congressman Jim Nussle and Greg Ganske. Most recently, Amy worked for Frank N. Magid Associates as a special projects manager. Amy is an active member in the community, participating in such organizations as Metro North Rotary and ImpactCR. Amy received her undergraduate from the University of Iowa and a business management certificate from Drake University. |
